Football player spends time in jail for DUI

Georgia residents might recognize Danny Ware from his time as a running back for the University of Georgia or because of his career in the NFL with the New York Giants, but the football player is not in the news for his athletic accomplishments this time. Ware reportedly spent time in jail starting on May 7 for a driving under the influence of alcohol charge.

DUI charges for Georgia representative

A state representative from a northern suburb of Atlanta was charged with speeding, DUI and possession of an open container on April 7. He was pulled over because he was going 72 mph in Rabun County, 27 mph over the speed limit, and he reportedly blew .225 in a breath test. He was also legally carrying a gun.

Katt Williams faces battery charges

Comedian Katt Williams was taken into custody in Georgia on April 27 after a fight at a restaurant shortly after 10 p.m. Allegedly, Williams' family began arguing with restaurant staff after being told that the area where they had seated themselves was reserved for another party. Police say Williams then arrived and threw a salt shaker at the manager. He was detained at a nearby Waffle House, charged with battery and released shortly after midnight.
